The Names of God

Birds emerging from the divine mountain in the top left-hand panel of the Garden of Earthly Delights.

This image represents the transition between the absolute, which is a comprehensive and unknowable unity, into the infinite expressions of God's will which create manifest reality as we know it. For all intents and purposes, this is a visual representation of the emergence of the names of God from the trascendent.

Later in the painting (see explanations in The Esoteric Bosch) the individual names of God, in the form of birds, manifest both positive and negative influences, after they  undergo transformation through contact with the material.
